Tailgating: Why BBQ Portability Is Important (This session is open to all – NO Education Passport or Single Session Ticket required)

Recent studies and surveys show that people across North America look to enjoy the comforts of their backyard anywhere they are. The outdoor enthusiast lifestyle “Tailgating” has become one of the fastest growing sporting/event activities going today. Barbecue grills and smokers are no longer just for the backyard. Quality, hassle free-portable products combined with today’s technology provide the backyard experience for anyone anywhere. The grill is the center piece of the experience.

Portable grills have come along way and today’s grills deliver a variety of features and benefits to ensure a quality tailgate. There is also a huge selection of accessories and food for this growing market. Successful retailers are paying attention to this business opportunity.

This open forum session will reveal results of a recent survey by Weber Grill along with consumer buying studies from Tailgater Magazine that shows the size and economic impact of portable barbecue grills and smokers.

Join Randy Dye the Publisher and Director of Business Development for Tailgater, Tailgater Magazine, and Tailgater Members, along with representatives from several portable grill / smoker manufacturers to discuss the ways retailers can meet the public’s passion for great food and camaraderie everywhere they go.

This session will be held under the tent in the Outdoor Burn area.  If weather becomes an issue, the session will move to Room 250F.
