NFI Certification & Exam Schedule

The National Fireplace Institute® is the professional certification division of the Hearth, Patio & Barbecue Education Foundation (HPBEF). NFI’s objective is to increase public safety by establishing meaningful credentials for professionals involved in planning and installing residential hearth appliances and venting systems.

HPBExpo is your opportunity to become NFI Certified

There are now over 3,000 NFI Certified professionals in the hearth industry. The HPBExpo 2013 is a great opportunity to add your name to the list. What NFI Certification can mean for your business:

  • Increased employee confidence and retention – fewer complaints and callbacks
  • A competitive edge over your competition – more customers = more profit
  • The opportunity to lower insurance premiums
  • Respect from building and code officials
  • Possible recognition by state/local government

How to Participate in the NFI Certification Program

You must purchase an NFl Certification package for each person you register. An NFl Certification package allows the individual access to one of the scheduled review courses and exams. Once registered, the study manual will be sent to the participant. Candidates for the NFl Certification review courses are strongly advised to study well in advance. For more information or to schedule special accommodations, please call NFl at (703) 524-8030. All special accommodations must be arranged prior to HPBExpo. You must be present at the published exam time. If you are not present, you will forfeit your opportunity to take the exam during that sitting. Candidates are allowed only one exam per exam offering.
