He’ll address how homeowners’ views of room design – including a wide variety specific hearth and outdoor design concepts – have evolved. Come see how breakfast gets done on a grill! Join us as we unveil this inaugural event with live Nashville entertainment, mimosa and Bloody Mary bars, and breakfast samplings from outdoor exhibitors. This brand new event will also feature a cooking demonstration by internationally acclaimed BBQ and grilling expert, Andreas Rummel. Working on Napoleon grills, Andreas will be grilling up two of his signature recipes and providing retailers ideas to duplicate in their own store demonstrations. There is just no better way to start your last day at HPBExpo!

Come join the Outdoor Burn Area exhibitors for the 7th annual HPBExpo Tailgate & Big Green Egg Cook-off event. Sample savory offerings from participating exhibitors and watch member retailer teams vie for the top honors in this EGGstravaganza hosted again this year by Dr. BBQ. This year attendees will have the opportunity to sample team submissions and make their own call on who the winner should be. Regional Affiliate teams need your support, so be sure to come out and cheer them on!
Six teams battled for top honors as judged by Kevin Roberts, host of Discovery Channel’s BBQ Pitmaster, Stan Hayes of Operation BBQ Relief, and Carolyn Wells of the Kansas City Barbecue Society. During the Big Green Egg Cook-off Event, HPBA and Casual Living magazine presented the Donna H. Meyers Barbecue Leadership Award to Mark Nureddine, a Veteran of the barbecue industry with more than 25 years in the business. Nureddine founded Bull Outdoor Products in 1993 and has built the company to be a leader in the barbecue industry through innovative products sold through more than 900 dealers and distributors in North America and 15 countries around the globe. In 2013, Nureddine used that success to launch Grill for Good, a charitable initiative that to date has raised more than $100,000 to build kitchen facilities in rural schools and provide lunches for needy children in Haiti.
Hearth & Home Magazine’s 18th Annual Vesta Awards
The Vesta Awards program was created in 2001 by Hearth & Home magazine to recognize and honor manufacturers for their innovation in product design and/or technology. The 2018 program will be open for entries on November 1, 2017 at www.vestaawards.com.
Judging will take place the first day of the HPBExpo, March 8, 2018; judges are selected from the ranks of retailers, distributors, designers, laboratory scientists, affiliate leaders and industry consultants.
The Vesta Awards Ceremony will begin at 5:00pm on Friday, March 9, at the convention center. Winners and finalists will be featured in Hearth & Home’s April issue.
